SUMMARY:Carla Wijbrandts & Yannis Angelis - Warm Data Lab
DESCRIPTION:Carla Wijbrandts and Yannis Angelis will host a warm data lab as developed by Nora Bateson. Warm data is all about life making life through intricate relationships and complexity that may be hard to observe with our bare eyes. This life making life through relationshipping is all around us and is full of possibility. \nSo let’s start by looking at small stories from our own day to day lives from different perspectives and create a kaleidoscopic lens on the world and relationships within it. You will start to notice it is not just that and nothing more...there is even possibility. \nTo bring warm data from complex systems theory thinking to be understood and of value to all\, Nora Bateson created the Warm Data Lab format. \nThis is relevant because in this time of polycrisis the multitude of complex and challenging issues can feel paralysing. We feel a sense of urgency not knowing if and where to contribute or start\, maybe not even believing in possibilities any more? \nThe theme contributes to the theme of working within the Ruins as the good news that the ruins are ‘not just that and nothing more’\, as Nora Bateson helps us remember. Within the cracks of the ruins\, there is life making life always looking for ways to grow back and flourish as the kale that chose to grow back between the concrete tiles on Carla’s roof garden. \nParticipants will go on a discovery together during the lab and begin to see why it’s vital to care for our families\, communities\, and the land when everything around us is collapsing.
