The workshop will be facilitated by Studio Method and Grounds of Care.  Grounds of Care is a collective formed by Crystal Mah and Alicia Ville that explores spatial design for skill sharing and ecological regeneration. Crystal is a social designer working within soft infrastructures at the intersection of diaspora resilience and urban care, and Alicia is a product designer focused on circular, just and regenerative practices. Studio-Method is a research-based architecture and design practice founded by Riel Bessai and Pedro Daniel Pantaleone. A central theme in their work involves transcending the traditional perception of waste as a mere technical problem. To this end, they have defined Contingent Design as an alternative methodology that challenges the value systems of control, power, and extraction inherent to (post-)modern design.
