Marcus Jenal – The neglected Outer and Inner Spaces we need to learn

November 8 @ 11:30 - 13:00

This exploration will be inspired by Dougald Hines’ invitation to turn away from the brightly lit multi-lane highway that society is inviting us to walk on towards a sustainable future. Marcus and Andy believe that we need to question our ways of thinking and begin very deeply in order not to recreate the same problems that have led humanity to the various predicaments we are now facing. Learning, if recast, can help us in this process of reflection and (re-)discovery of various different ways of doing and being. Joint learning and joint reflection allows us to tap into each other’s perspectives, wisdom, and paradigms.

We are moved by the insight that science and scientific ways of thinking no longer offers all the answers, as Dougald stipulates. What does that mean for learning? What if a room of participants was more than an assemblage of thinking minds?

Andy and Marcus will begin by each sharing a story and a provocation to frame and start the conversation. We will then step back into the circle, inviting others to share their experiences, in the style of an Unhurried Conversation.

Participants will experience and take away a different perspective on what learning can be and the needs it can serve. They will experience story-sharing and unhurried exploration of how learning could be different.
