Yannis Angelis – The wounded More Than Human World

November 8 @ 11:30 - 13:00

It is an undeniable reality that climate-related trauma is not just a human experience. The more-than-human world remembers, feels, responds, and grieves too. So, how do we approach a space that carries this trauma, not as saviours, not as extractors of meaning, but as participants in relationshipping?

Yannis Angelis invites the complex creatures that will be present at Rotterdam Change Days to join him at a place in Rotterdam, where there is an established climate trauma present. A place that remembers. In such a context, an un-facilitated process may support the restor(e)ying of our relation with the traumatized more-than-human field. This may become equally compelling and nourishing by offering the possibility to experience an eco-centric connection to the place metabolizing loss into new relationships, new possibilities, new ways of being. The question we will explore is: How can I be with this loss in a way that honours what is gone, what remains, and what seeds out?

In this exploration we will ally with two comrades: Silence & Art.

Climate trauma is not just about destructionit is also about relationship. The more-than-human world does not grieve in isolation, and neither should we. Your presence, your witnessing, your willingness to listen rather than fix, to grieve rather than rush, to co-witness rather than control…these are all part of a different way of being. Yannis will meet you there.
