What stays with us from the ruins of what used to be? How do we deal with the absence of what we once valued, and the echoes it left behind? What does it mean for us to acknowledge the ruins through mourning the past and the future that will no longer be? How do we feel gratitude, let go? And what will grow in between the cracks of the ruins, regenerating our systems?
This workshop is a slow, reflective and gentle exploration of the creative and transformative power of grief. First, through a series of prompts and word association exercises, Lisette & María will guide participants to explore this topic through writing. After a short sharing moment, participants will go outside to pick leaves, flowers or other objects and create a cyanotype of their own ruins.
Lisette & María want to offer participants a phenomenological experience – looking at and experiencing everything that is without judgement. They want to create a space to connect with their own ruins and echoes, recognizing it as a fractal of the mourning that needs to be done for our world.
